delete outdated/non-working coupons
Clean up the riff raff!
The reason we don't remove old coupons is that we have regularly seen old coupons, that haven't worked for weeks, just start working again. Check the spark-line graph to see how recently the coupon worked before you try it.

the real reason you leave expired coupons is to gain better placement in search engines...aka SEO. Don't make excuses like they just start working again...so lame.

See above.

Sorry, but I'm not buying it (pun intended). I use this site to save money and TIME and I'm not saving time if I have to wade through a boatload of coupon codes just to find out none of them work anymore. At the least, REQUIRE the expiration date to be posted with the coupon code, so we can ignore the oldest in the swamp.

The success rate should prevent you from having to wade through loads of codes - and all the top rated ones are at the top. Im interested in why you dont use it?

I just tried a dozen codes listed for pacificgeek - not one of them worked. And yes, many of them were at the very top of the list. The other day, I went through 14 coupons for a single merchant which did not work, and which happened to be all of the coupons posted for that retailer. Your site is great, but what a waste of your member's valuable time.

Now I tried coupon after coupon at bargainoutfitters.com. None worked. Some were as old as a year. This merchant will not reactivate old coupons, so they should be deleted.

I think that if you a coupon is frequently turned on and off, it should be placed in a separate section (a simple bar to segregate the working coupons from the variable use coupons would help).

and YES, I HAVE used the little bar, but when a coupon is dead for so long, and then magically starts working, then it's percentage is low and it will show very far down the list of coupon codes

I continually get automatic emails from retailmenot saying coupons have been added (specifically coldwatercreek.com) and the large ones never work. What a shame......they aren't old. I try them immediately and they are just bogus!

As a merchant, it's VERY frustrating to receive complaints from customers about outdated/expired coupons, when we strive to create a pleasant consumer experience, Unfortunately, many times the customer does not understand that its retailmenot.com submitting the coupons, so we as the retailer take the hit and blame. Please require an expiration date on coupons; you know it’s the right thing to do!

Get rid of the coupons that have expiration dates on them in which the dates have passed already....it's wasting my time. Also, is there some way you could say whether or not certain coupons can be used at a store rather than online. This would save me time also.

I glance at it, yes, but it's unreliable. It's only as good as the people who actually remember to come back to the site to post if it's usable or not.

I've seen old coupons start working again, too. If I'm desperate to get some savings, I'd totally try all listed codes.

It might be good to take off expired coupons, after a while, though. If they start working again, they will already have so many "not working" votes that the percentage will be too low for people to try it again. Maybe have a separate "expired codes" page for each store, and if/when people have the time, they can try them out. If a code is good again, they can click a button to reactivate it.
